MESA Day Preliminary

 

This years M.E.S.A preliminaries were held at UC Santa Cruz, and our very own

M.E.S.A club went home with an astonishing 28 medals. Through hard work, dedication, and

determination the following students took home medals and represented Soledad High amongst

all the local MESA programs.

Robert Guillen took Second place in 10th grade Solo math

Alyssa Plascencia, Edmond Zieber and Aaron Perez took first place in 12th Place Team Math

Israel Estrada, Isela Perez, and Jesus Cuevas took home a first place medal for 11th and 12th Grade

Speak Out

Skylah Fergoso, Jessica Herrera, and Marissa Widener also took first place for 9th and 10th grade Speak Out Daisy Bugarin and Samantha Landeros placed first place for their Design and Creativity for 11th/12th grade Mouse Trap

Angela Alfaro and Graciela Chavez took home 3rd place in Civil Structures 9th/10th grade Power, as well as for Design and Creativity.

Jerianne Balino, Belen Torres, Christopher Villarreal, and Ramiro Zavala placed first in Robotics Sumo. Christopher Mandujano placed second in 11th/12th Grade Balsawood plane.

For Prosthetic Arm display, tasks, technical paper and overall, our Mesa President Alyssa Plascencia, Aaron Perez, and David Lee took home four first place medals.

Through our M.E.S.A club officers, Alyssa Plascencia, Edmond Zieber, Getsemani Puga, and Julio Lara's hard work, sacrifice,and sleepless nights they were able to encourage a group of students to come out and compete, as well as organize the trip up to UC Santa Cruz. Those who advanced will be granted another opportunity to represent Soledad High School on April 22nd at M.E.S.A regionals also held at UC Santa Cruz.
