Valentine's Day Dance: Love was in the Air

We are at heart a bunch of high school romantics, even if for only one day a year. Whether you were single, taken or in a complicated relationship, everyone was courteously invited to attend the annual Valentine’s Day Dance. The dance was hosted by the school’s Freshman Class Officers of 2020 at Soledad High School last Friday. Music and dancing ruled the night as DJ Louie put his art to the test all night long. While the Freshman had a lot on their plate Friday night with the Night Rally going on a few hours before hand, the class officers and their committee deliberately and successfully opened their doors to the large crowd waiting outside in the foyer. As soon as the music started playing, everyone gathered to the center of the room and danced with their friends, partners and their loved one's.

With the cost of the dance being as low as $5, the multipurpose room was nicely decorated, had a photo booth, occupied a professional DJ, and had a snack bar for all the attendees. The photo booth was highly decorated, including various traditional Valentine's Day colors and props. At the booth, students were able to take pictures on a Polaroid camera for the price of $1. DJ Louie played popular music and had a LED light system. The dance setting was well lit, spacious, and decorated to fit the theme. There was an assortment of chocolate drizzled fruits, pastries, nachos, and cooled or blended drinks on sale.

Overall, the student body turnout this past Friday night was one of the largest we have seen in comparison to other dances held within the previous years. The Freshman Class of 2020 did a fine job hosting their annual dance and we hope the student body had just as fun as our Aztec Daily staff did.
