Top 10 Holiday Movies

With the Holidays coming up, everyone is looking forward to spending time with their family and enjoying each other's company. I think we can all agree, however, that too much time together doesn't exactly keep us in the holiday spirit. Here's a list of movies recommended by your fellow classmates to help you maintain a warm, joyous, festive spirit this holiday season!

1. Home Alone (1990)

Imagine being forgotten at home for the holidays, and having to make it out on your own?! I mean, who didn't want to be like Kevin McCalister. He had all the coolest ideas to strike back at the sticky bandits!

2. The Polar Express (2004)

You know you always wanted to ride the Polar Express.This movie is perfect to watch with little siblings! If you're looking for a movie with a theme of hope to set the holiday mood, this is just the one for you.

3. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

When all else fails, you can always count on a good Tim Burton movie. The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of those movies that makes you realize anyone can have a change in heart. It's the perfect transition between Halloween and Christmas.

4. A Christmas Carol (2009)

Bringing the Christmas spirit to an old bitterly man who hates Christmas is basically the moral of this story. Jim Carrey plays the old man, Scrooge, and does an excellent job of it! This movie will make you think about your past and wonder about your future.

5. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

Another Jim Carrey classic makes the cut! Dr.Seuss’ tale is about a bitter Grinch who hates Christmas and is devoted to making sure everyone in 'Whoville' is as miserable as he is. Does he manage to ruin Christmas for everyone or does something stop him?

6. Jack Frost (1998)

This is a sad, yet redeeming movie. A father who dies in a car accident comes back in the form of a snowman to finish unkept promises with his son. This movie is great to watch by yourself, with family, or even with friends.

7. Elf (2003)

This Will Farrell movie will have you laughing like crazy. Imagine being raised by elves in the North Pole and then having to make it out in New York's busy city life. Not exactly an easy adjustment.

8. A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

This movie has laughter and smiles all over it. Charlie and Snoopy take on Christmas and try to find the meaning of it. Watch this with family and you will definitely get a full Christmas experience out of it!

10. Four Christmases (2008)

This unmarried couple goes to a series of family get togethers with some crazy relatives. The encounters and situations they find themselves in are hilarious! Watch this movie with friends or family, be sure parents are around if you're planning on watching it with younger siblings!
