Aztecs break down the Breakers

This Friday, our Soledad Aztec football team took on the Pacific Grove Breakers at home for a game that was a must win on both sides of the field. The Aztecs were off to a hot start during the first two minutes of the game as they scored the first 13 points of the game. Our Aztecs would go on to take home the W with a score of 35-20. With the win, our Aztecs were able to clinch a playoff spot and at least a tie for second in the race for the MTAL title. The Aztecs had more than enough offense with the help from running back Emmanuel Ortega who would rush for 203 yards and score three touchdowns (two of his touchdowns would come in the second half of the game). Angel Olivas would pick off a pass and return it for a pick 6, and Daniel Contawe would also score a touchdown ending a red hot offensive night for our Aztecs. Next Friday, our football players will take on the Greenfield Bruins at home. JV will be playing at 5:00 pm and Varsity at 7:30pm. We will also be having our senior night, so come out and support your Soledad Aztecs!!
